Hey Friends - So when you are in a car accident, sometimes afterward you say, "My car is totalled." Well - as some of you know - the boiler on the Anastasis broke Saturday morning/Friday night (Oct. 1/2). Today our chief engineer told us that basically our boiler has been totalled. Friends, this is not a good thing. To replace it will cost 30,000 euros. This is too much. Right now, the president of a boiler manufacturer is having lunch with the captain of our ship - pray this company would have favor on us, that they would give us the boiler for a lot cheaper or even free. Pray also for our engineers, plumbers, welders, piper fitters, deckies, electricians - they are under a lot of stress and are working really hard - pray they'd have strength for the day, good attitudes - one of teamwork and even joy. pray their hands would work fast and wisely. the boiler is necessary not only for hot water (gotta love those cold showers/bucket baths) but it is also needed for the kitchen - to cook our meals, the medical ward needs it to power their steam sterilizer, and we need it to heat up our fuel so that it can be used in our engines, so we can sail. the boiler needs to be fixed in five days - so pray that all the work would get done. we also need eye surgeons for outreach - pray the Lord would provide, ask your friends - people can serve for as short as two weeks up to months/years. spread the word. abiding, emily:-)
