So - this morning all the teachers gathered for our first meeting. We went over the schedule for the next two weeks before school starts. Most of the construction stuff is done, we are starting to set up the computers and put all the stuff that is on the shelves in the right place. oh! i had my first sail the other day. i can't even remember which day . . . not good. oh right, it was saturday. so i was having a wonderful traditional english meal with my korean posse and some other friends. one of our english friends, emily, cooked us a delightful English meal that would typically be eaten on sunday. it basically consisted of chickens, carrots and potatoes, and some English pudding, which does not taste like American pudding at all. You eat it with either gravy or jam, interesting. Our filipino friend also made us this amazing soup that reminded me of korean soups. it was all delicious. so, right after i finished eating the ship started to sway a little more than i would have liked. i thought something bad might happen so i excused myself from the table and made it out onto the promenade deck. it was great, but i didn't stay for long. i think i was ancy and nervous about the sail, it was also quite cold outside, so i went back to my cabin and had a nice REM cycle nap - wonderful. the ship rocked me to sleep and i didn't get sick at all! wonderful. the real test will be walking around during a sail, or functioning when all we're doing for a week is sailing. i'll let you know :-) so back to school. all the teachers are here - praise! and right now they are starting to put their classrooms together. this morning, all of us dedicated each classroom to our Lord, prayed for that particular teacher and his/her struggles and for the students who they will be teaching. it was really amazing just to be able to pray for the spaces where the Lord is going to work so diligently. I'm excited for them. as soon as i figure out how to put pics on this thing, i'll take some pics of the teachers and you can pray for them. they all have amazing stories about how they got to the ship, how they got ready in 6 weeks just like me, how God provided so miraculously for some of them, etc. it will be a blessing to get to know each one better. we are now in scheveningen and we are so blessed b/c there is an awesome boardwalk and beach about a five minute walk. i ventured there four times this last weekend. my legs are a little achy, but it is a great hang-out, chill place. tons to eat, fun things to see, they even have this huge twisty tower thing over the water where people are bungy jumpy head first into the ocean :-) fun! we are also in a PR phase, so our tour guides are all decked out in their uniforms and tours are being given almost every day. it's exciting to see others curious and/or passionate about what we're doing. well i should go help out in the school, peace to you all:-) emily
