To show great love for God and our neighbors we need not do great things. It is how much love we put into the doing that makes our offering something beautiful for God. -Mother Teresa

Princess Anne

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, Princess Anne visited the ship. She is the daughter of the Queen of England and the sister of Prince Charles.  It was quite the excitement around the ship.  As I’m not from the UK or part of a Commonwealth state, it was all a bit foreign.  One is not allowed to speak to the Princess unless she addresses you first and you have to address her as ‘Ma’am’ (like ham, not mum, like hum)… I don’t think anyone did b/c we were all too nervous.  She talked to a few kids and asked most of the teachers how long we’d be on the ship.  She walked through the Academy in about 3 minutes and we spent the better part of the week thinking about the visit/making the school prettier/etc. The most fascinating part of it for me was how she worked the room.  40 kids and 13 teachers were awkwardly standing in a big room to greet her and she came right in, started asking questions/commenting on various aspects, and exited.  It was strange, but her ‘presence’ was impressive.
