An Excellent Day
Mail day – when you personally get mail – is always a happy day! Today was exceptional. I had bought some sandals on-line, which came today :-) And I received an actual letter from a friend back home!!! AND Adding to all this greatness was a little envelope from Rotterdam – WITH MY PLANE TICKETS HOME!!! It’s seriously a light at the end of a long stretch of something or another. Maybe a long road that has lights pretty consistently along it, but this light at the end is just bright and there are comforts from past lives sitting nearby or maybe stuck to it. Picture a Sierre Turkey sandwich from Panera, or a dairy queen blizzard, or a close friend . . . It’s very happy! We have one and a half weeks of school left. Wow. It’s been odd to work in a school – a joy to be older and to see students having to study and take tests and all that jive. I love not being one of them! I’ve been substitute teaching quite a bit this last stretch. I’ve realized I love being the students’ friend and I don’t love having to discipline them or tell them to do schoolwork. They have been such a blessing to me. Most of the crew don’t even know the children’s names. I not only am blessed to know their names, but to know their personalities, when they’re having a bad day, and so much more! My life on the Anastasis would have been drastically different if I’d been working in Human Resources (the other job they offered me). The Lord gives abundant blessings. We sail on the 17th of June! I’m looking forward to it. Right before, on the 12th and the 15th about 40+ people are leaving the ship. These mass exoduses are difficult. Not that you even know everyone that well, but it’s just hard to have such a big change. After the heartbreak ceases, it will be easy and nice with a smaller group left on the ship . . . but it will just be different. Thank you for sharing in my happy day. Hope all is well – Let His grace sweep over you incessantly! Emily:-)
